Killua and Gon are now sweating heavily, while Netero isn't. The two join forces and they almost capture the ball, but Netero is fast enough to retrieve the ball first. Seeing his ability, Killua gives up saying that even if they try for a whole year, they still won't get it. Gon decides to stay, saying that even if he can't get the ball he can still try to force Netero to use his right hand. Killua leaves while Gon and Netero continue their game.
Killua walks through the halls, telling himself that he can't calm down. Two candidates walk past, and bump him. They begin to sass Killua saying that he should apologize for bumping into them and that if he doesn't, they'll get rough. Instead, Killua effortlessly kills them both. Killua continues down the hall, quietly thinking to himself about how he wanted the ball so badly that he would have killed Netero, and he left because of it.
Gon is still determined to defeat Netero. He tries many attacks, but none of them work. After many sets of attacks, Gon successfully makes Netero use his right hand in grabbing the ball. Gon is now satisfied, and immediately goes to sleep.
Morning comes, and the airship is ready to land. They land on a tall stone structure called Trick Tower. The candidates are given 72 hours to get to the bottom of this tower, alive.
