Three-Way Struggle: Part 9 (三つ巴の攻防 (9), Mitsu Domoe no Kōbō (9)) is the 178th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

SummaryEdit

Killua also uses Accompany and takes away Sub to a far-off place. He observes that Sub was weaker than him in terms of strength and ability, but his Nen control was leagues ahead of him. So it would affect both his offense and defense. Killua decides to use this opportunity to experiment his "Rhythm Echo" to confuse the Bomb Devil. He thus manages to get close to the confused Sub and transmutes his Nen into lightning to shock him in the abdomen. But it isn't enough to defeat him and only affects him as much as a taser. So Killua then pulls out a yo-yo from his pocket.

He swings it at Sub, who ducks, and the yo-yo hits a tree instead and breaks it. This alarms the Bomb Devil who wonders aloud what the yo-yo was made of. Killua replies that it was made of a hybrid metal called "Aniki" and it weighs fifty kilograms. Killua swings the yo-yo again, and this time it makes contact, pushing Sub back. But with the last attack, the Bomb Devil is able to figure out the opening in Killua's attack.

He throws a stone at Killua, who dodges, but loses his yo-yo in the process. His right side is open, and Sub takes advantage of the opportunity, kicking him. But before he could rejoice, he is hit in the back of the head by a yo-yo. Killua actually had two of them and had created the opening just to catch the Bomb Devil in his trap. He then hits Sub on his head once again, this time with both of his yo-yos, and electrocutes him, leaving him unconscious.

Meanwhile, Gon still refuses to give in, and Genthru finally acknowledges his power. He realizes that the battle was not a physical one, but rather, it was a battle of will.
