Training Resumes ((しゅ)(ぎょう)(さい)(かい)()()()()()(), Shūgyō Saikai) is the 56th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

Synopsis[]

At Wing's hotel room, Wing tells Gon and Killua that they will now be studying with Zushi, also glad to see that Gon kept his promise for two months. Holding up his hand, Gon tells him that his string acted as a great reminder and allowed him to calm himself. Wing smiles and replies that he imbued it with Nen so that it would have that effect, quickly revealing that he was only joking. Killua then asks how Wing knows that Gon didn't cheat, and Wing replies that the thread hasn't been broken, asking Gon to show his Ten.

Chap 56 - Gon using Ten after two months

Gon using Ten after two months

As Killua wonders if he could have cheated without being caught, Gon is unsure if he can still do it but calms himself and performs the technique. Asked by Wing what he thinks, Zushi describes Gon's aura as smooth and calm yet powerful. With Gon relieved that he didn't forget, Wing compares it to riding a bicycle and adds that he must practice diligently to master it. Gon points out that he was able to do it more easily than before without practicing, but Wing explains that he was able to do so because he practiced "Ten" every day. He then tells Gon to look at his left hand, and Gon is stunned to see that the thread around his pinky is broken, with a surprised Killua adding that Gon couldn't even remove it in the bath.

Wing says that he tied the thread so it would break if Gon used Nen, explaining it as a trick of his own Nen. Killua then asks Wing if he watched Hisoka's match against Kastro. Wing confirms that he did, and Killua asks about Hisoka's ability, wondering if they could also make their arm fly around and reattach itself. Wing replies that they should be methodical about it since it's a difficult question. He then asks Gon if he has seen the match footage yet, but Gon replies that he wanted to get his permission first.

After Wing starts the tape and it reaches the point where Hisoka tosses his playing cards into the air, Gon and Killua are unable to see the strands of aura coming from Hisoka's left arm. Wing explains that Hisoka used an advanced application of Zetsu called In to make his aura very difficult to see. He adds that the technique makes even powerful aura invisible and that the best way to see it is to focus the aura in one's eyes by using Ren. He then tells Gon that while what he did in his match against Gido may work, he will get himself killed since he can't counterattack.

Chap 56 - Zushi using Gyo to see Hisoka's aura

Zushi using Gyo to see Hisoka's aura

Wing tells Gon and Killua that they can discover Hisoka's ability for themselves once they practice Ren enough to be able to see Hisoka's In. Zushi wonders what he should do, and Wing points out that he should already be able to see it, leaving Zushi surprised. Wing tells him to show his Ren, and Zushi calms himself before using the technique. Gon notes that it's the same size as theirs yet teeming with power. Wing tells him to focus all of it in his eyes, and Zushi strains himself to do so, eventually using the technique called Gyo. He confirms to Wing that he can see Hisoka's aura, specifically 13 strands. After Wing tells him that he's close, Zushi releases the technique and catches his breath.

After praising the thankful Zushi, Wing assures him that he will be able to fight and use Gyo simultaneously with enough practice. He emphasizes how important Gyo is at determining an opponent's abilities, stressing to Gon and Killua that they need to learn Ren first and then use it to perform Gyo. He then moves on to Killua's second question about whether they can do the same thing as Hisoka, explaining that as long as it's a Nen ability, a student of Nen should be able to learn it. However, he clarifies that the possibility isn't zero and stresses that a person's individuality heavily influences their Nen. He explains that it could take him 10 years to learn what Hisoka did in five, adding that he could possibly never learn it at all. He tells the three boys that instead of imitating others, they should strive to reach their true potential and consider their own emotions and experiences, which will all be used to develop their Nen. He reminds them that they are still maturing and tells them to train both their bodies and minds, finally adding that they should enjoy their lives as much as they can. After all three energetically agree, Wing asks Gon how much time he has left before he needs to fight again. The two eventually work out that he has 28 days left, and Killua adds that he has 27 days. Wing says that they will register on the last possible day, with Killua to fight on June 9th and Gon on June 10th, and tells them to master Gyo by then.

Chap 56 - Gon, Killua, and Zushi confronted on the 200th floor

Gon, Killua, and Zushi confronted on the 200th floor

After the three boys head back to Heavens Arena, Killua comments on how much Zushi has improved, but Zushi remains modest and points out that he still hasn't passed the 90th floor. The three decide to review what they learned in Killua's room, but as they make their way by elevator to the 200th floor, each of them senses that people are waiting for them. Once the door opens and they see the same three fighters from before, Killua becomes annoyed at their persistence. One of the fighters simply tells them that they want to know when they plan to fight. Gon whispers to Zushi that the three are also fighters on the 200th floor, and Zushi wonders if Gon fought the one in the middle, with Killua adding that they only fight new fighters to gain easy wins. The fighter says that they are almost out of time and becoming desperate, agreeing to show them his ability as his aura swells around him. Gon reveals that he plans to register for June 10th, and the fighter is disappointed since his deadline is May 29th. Becoming even more annoyed, Killua tells Gon and Zushi that it's time to leave. The fighter gets Gon's attention and assures him that the two of them will fight. As the three boys turn to leave, the fighter watches Zushi and plans to keep his promise.
