Chap 58 - Killua confronting Riehlvelt and Gido

Killua confronting Riehlvelt and Gido

Gon is shown to have one loss (to Gido) and one win (by default to Sadaso), and Killua one win by default to Sadaso and zero losses. Sadaso calls Riehlvelt by phone and tells him about the incident with Killua, saying that it was a mistake to assume that they were only kids. He reveals that he's leaving since he doesn't want to die, telling them to be careful since they will be next. Sadaso hangs up before Riehlvelt can respond, and Gido asks what happened. Riehlvelt replies that he doesn't care and points out how close they are to becoming Floor Masters, saying that they can leave Heavens Arena then and live off the money they make from lecture and teaching jobs.

As Riehlvelt guesses that Killua didn't threaten him because he was unsure about his abilities, Killua suddenly appears inside the room and tells them that their abilities are irrelevant since he planned to warn them eventually. He adds that they will never be safe, not even while sleeping or using the bathroom, and reminds them to play by the rules before calmly leaving. Riehlvelt chuckles and says that they should do what he says since cheating is wrong, with Gido quickly agreeing. At Wing's hotel room, Gon, Killua, and Zushi continue their Ren training as Wing instructs them. He then points out that both Gon and Killua have matches that day, asking how they feel. Gon is ready to go, and Wing says that he shouldn't need any advice since he has fought Gido before, asking if he has a strategy planned. Gon replies that he plans to use his fishing rod, leaving Zushi surprised as Wing smiles.

Inside the arena, the announcer introduces both fighters for their rematch and reminds the crowd that Gido sent Gon to the hospital the last time they fought. She also draws their attention to Gon's fishing rod and wonders how he will use it. The referee explains that points or a knockout will decide the winner with no time limit, and once he begins the match, Gon quickly dashes forward, but Gido immediately uses his Tornado Top to stop Gon in his tracks. Gido chuckles to himself and adds that since it's nearly impossible to stop his spinning, everyone tries attacking him first. Gido asks Gon what's wrong and says that he will take the lead, suddenly using his Shotgun Blues to send out several spinning tops and leaving Gon surprised that he can use both abilities at the same time.

Gido confidently tells Gon that he won't be able to dodge all the tops since unlike Battle Waltz, Shotgun Blues sends them directly at a target. However, Gon suddenly appears furious and uses his Ren to block all the tops, leaving the crowd stunned. Gido nervously realizes that Gon's Nen defenses have improved and that his tops won't be able to injure him. Watching among the crowd, Killua says that while Gon could have used his fishing rod to deflect the tops, he blocked them all head-on to rattle Gido's nerves. After Killua adds that Gon must be really upset that they used Zushi to blackmail them, Gon readies his fishing rod and prepares to counterattack. Continuing to spin, Gido realizes that Gon will most likely try to attach the hook to his clothes in order to stop his spinning.

As Gido chuckles and wonders if it will work, Gon swings his fishing rod toward Gido, but the hook simply bounces off him and does no damage. Gido confidently tells Gon that he can't hook onto him when he's spinning so quickly and protected by aura. However, Gon says that it's no problem as he swings the hook past Gido, catching one of the stone tiles below him and lifting it into the air. Gido is sent flying and falls hard to the floor as he attempts to recover, but Gon stands right in front of them and appears to punch him hard in the midsection before he can surrender. However, it's revealed that Gon punched Gido’s steel leg and broke it in two, making it impossible for him to continue the fight. Gido breathes heavily while lying on the floor, and Gon tells him that they won't hold back either if his group will resort to any means, warning him that it will be his face that's broken if he even touches Zushi again. As Wing and Zushi cheer in the stands and a smiling Hisoka watches on a television screen, Killua prepares to fight in the main event against Riehlvelt.
