September 3rd: Part 2 (9月3日(2), Kugatsu Mikka (2)) is the 86th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

Synopsis

Leorio on the phone with Gon, tells him he's having no luck with finding legit information. Most are fake and he's even got a few prank calls, he then adds a requirement to have the informant clearly state where they've seen them. Gon tells Leorio that he and Killua have run into a problem. A man named Zepile is using the same method of bidding on items with an aura. They decide to try to bid 2.5 more than his previous amount. After doing this Zepile only quintupled their amount so Gon and Killua wait till right before the auction ends to place a bet, they win the items 3 to 1 doing this. A shadowy figure can be seen watching the boys from afar.

Gon and Killua go and try to set their items up for auction, but it's already much too late. The catalogue was finalized over 6 months ago and they are already working on next years. They do this so they have adequate time to check the authenticity of each object. Since most of the other auction houses do this they are recommended to visit an antique dealer or try the merchant market. The merchant market is a place where items can be sold the same day they are brought in. Since it's up to the customer to decide if the item is real or counterfeit it's not uncommon for a fake to sell high. Although the amount these items sell for are no where near what they'd sell for at a classic auction. Depending on the object they'd have a better chance at selling it to the antique dealer.

Wanting an estimate on their items they go to the antique dealer to have him put a price on the items. The first item is a lithography by Mukatolini, with serial number 3 of only 50 prints and signed, it's worth about 150,000 Jenny Symbol 2011. Next is an old hand made doll in perfect condition worth 300,000 Jenny Symbol 2011. A sculpture is next but it isn't worth very much but the wood is very good and is worth 100,000 Jenny Symbol 2011. The antique dealer offers more than 500,000 Jenny Symbol 2011 for the whole lot, but the boys decide to have them checked at another store but if they get the same results they'll return. Suddenly a man shows up and tells the boys the dealer is lying. The statue is actually a chest and was a ploy by the wealthy to hide their riches. The dealer had planed to "check the wood", but actually empty the chest of its contents.
