Eta (イータ, Īta) is one of the Game Masters and creators of Greed Island. She is Elena's twin sister,[1] one of the other creators of the game. Eta's manga appearance

Eta is a young woman with a slim figure, big azure eyes, and long, silver hair parted in two ponytails by a helmet with eye motifs. She wears a black, sleeveless robe also decorated with eye motifs: one right below her collarbone, one in the middle of her chest, and one on the upper part of her abdomen.

In the 1999 anime adaptation, she appears slightly taller and older. Her hair is brown, her eyes green, and her dress purple with yellow and blue eyes.

Personality[]

Eta has shown to be very professional and acts almost machine-like when detailing the rules of Greed Island.[1]

End x And x Beginning

Eta explaining the game to Gon

Eta appears before Gon after he enters Greed Island. She greets Gon and, after learning his identity, relays a message left by his father. She then gives him a long and detailed explanation about how to play and beat the game. Eta allows Gon to enter the game but stresses that her explanation was the bare minimum knowledge about the game and that he will have to figure everything else out himself, finally wishing him good luck.[1] When the Phantom Troupe ride a boat to Greed Island, Eta detects them and describes them as intruders.[2]

Upon Killua's return to Greed Island after completing the 288th Hunter Exam, he is greeted by Eta. She asks him if he would like an explanation of the game again, but he declines.[3] The moment Gon collects 99 specified slot cards, Eta holds a 100-question quiz open to all Greed Island players, with the prize being the final specified slot card, "Ruler's Blessing".[4] At the end of the quiz, Eta announces Gon to be the winner with a score of 87/100 points.[5] List tells Gon that the game's title is derived from the initials of the Game Masters' first names, with Eta and Elena making the two Es in "Greed".[6]

Abilities & Powers[]

Eta's Nen ability is unknown, but she is able to conjure swords and turn them to cards while explaining the game's mechanics. Whether this is her ability or not has yet to be revealed. She was able to detect the Phantom Troupe when they tried to enter Greed Island by boat, but due to the vastness of the island, it is highly unlikely that she used En.
