Kite (カイト, Kaito) is Meruem's twin sister, a Chimera Ant and a member of their royal family. She was originally named Reina, after Colt's sister, but took to calling herself Kite.
Appearance
She looks exactly the same as a human girl with red hair, purple eyes, and some freckles covering her face. She has a rat-like tail.
Personality
Having Kite's memories, she is more mature than her age.
Plot
Chimera Ant arc
Little Kite with Colt
Kite is reborn prematurely as a tiny infant after Meruem forcibly breaks open the Queen's abdomen to come to the world. After finding her in the Queen's remains, Colt, a division commander extremely loyal to the Queen swears to protect her at all costs.[1] She is then raised by him like a normal human being so that both of them are granted protection by Morel. Despite that, she still grows at the rate of a regular Chimera Ant and by the end of the Chimera Ant crisis, she already looks like a young girl in early childhood.
13th Hunter Chairman Election arc
The Hunters Association has classified her and Colt as magical beasts to keep them from being hunted down. It is revealed that she has Kite's memories, probably because the Queen devoured his brain right before conceiving her or because of one of Kite's Crazy Slots abilities.
When she's seen again, she looks older and talks with Koala and after listening to his story, she proposes to him to go with her forever to atone for his sins. Then, Gon appears and apologizes to Kite for Neferpitou's incident, and says that they both need more training and that next time, he will protect her, fighting by her side. Both of them smile and Kite says that she is delighted that Gon came to see her and that he should go after Ging, saying that when she will need help, she will contact him and Killua. They say goodbye to each other and Gon goes to find Ging. Kite is then seen again with Gon, Koala, and the Amateur Hunters, watching a flock of Small-Billed Swans.
