Puhat (プーハット, Puhatto) was a Greed Island player hired by Battera, who enters the game at the same time as Gon and Killua.[1]

Puhat normally seen walking with his hands in his pockets like Killua. He has a hunch in his posture making him seem shorter. He has a little facial hair. He is seen wearing a purple jacket with white lapels and collar along with purple pants for his first appearance to his death. He seems to close his eyes a lot while explaining something and adds some hand gestures.

PersonalityEdit

Puhat was noted for being a very perceptive individual as well as a very intelligent one. He was quick to deduce many things and always asked the right questions at the right times. It is worth noting that all of his deductions were spot on during the Greed Island arc. According to Killua, he tried to act smart, but he was in fact smart although he may have also been somewhat over confident in his abilities.[1]

PlotEdit

Greed Island arcEdit

Gon and Killua meet him during the Greed Island player recruitment exam in Yorknew City. He observed Tsezguerra's explanation of the hiring process for playing Greed Island. He then gets into a conversation with Gon and Killua while commenting on the hopeless applicants. After sharing some of his intuition, he walks away looking smug only to be shot down mentally by Killua's comment that those who pretend to be smart die fast.[1] Right before the players hired by Battera get ready to enter the game, an order had to be decided. Puhat suggested rock, paper, scissors even if he didn't win.[2]

Puhat's death

Puhat's head severed by the Bomb Devils

Soon after entering the game, he's convinced to join Nickes' alliance of players, hoping to clear the game in a couple of months.[3] After Genthru reveals himself as the Bomber and blackmails the alliance, Puhat attempts to negotiate with the Bomb Devils behind the other players' backs. He did so because the rest of the alliance was in disorder. He believed they would stay restless until the bombs Genthru set exploded with his Countdown ability. However, Genthru regards him as a worthless player and kills him.[4] Puhat's head then is severed and used to threaten the rest of the alliance.[5]

Abilities & Powers Edit

Due to being able to access Greed Island, Puhat is capable of utilizing Nen.

TriviaEdit

  • In the 1999 anime, Puhat never tries to negotiate with the Bombers by himself.
  • His voice actor also voices Peggy, Loupe, and the narrator.
