Sheila (シーラ, Shīra) is a woman originating from Meteor City,[1] who Kurapika and Pairo meet. Sheila strives to be a Pro Hunter,[2] and was friends with the Phantom Troupe, before its official founding.[1]

Appearance[]

Sheila is a young woman with fair, mid-length hair and blunt bangs. She wears a dark headband with heart designs, a dark backpack with a menacing face printed and the same heart designs, and a blouse and a skirt. After Kurapika and Pairo found her injured in the forest, they put a cast on her broken left leg.[2]

Personality[]

Chap 397 - Sheila leaving the group

Sheila leaving her friends because of their motives

Sheila seems to have a spirited personality. Despite being injured, she could smile and greet Kurapika and Pairo. She is also rather clumsy, repeatedly falling while her leg was healing and injuring herself again.[2]

In her younger days, it is shown that she was kind and caring towards her friends and the Meteor City children. She took great pride and joy in performing Mighty Sweepin' Power Cleaners voice-acting onstage and was having a good time rehearsing with her fellow troupe members.[3]

Although deeply saddened by Sarasa's gruesome death, she refused to follow Chrollo in the revolutionized Troupe. She became distressed upon witnessing the remaining members agree to embrace the darkness that will transform them into diabolical thieves in their misguided plan to avenge Sarasa. She presumably severed both her friendship and contact with the rest as a result.[4]

Plot[]

Early Life[]

Chap 395 - Two sides of Meteor City

Sheila with her friends

Sheila originated from Meteor City, a junkyard city inhabited by outcasts. Sheila was a childhood friend of Chrollo and all other members of the Phantom Troupe.[1]

One day, Sheila and Sarasa meet up with Pakunoda, who asks about the book Sheila is reading, to which she replies that it is Dino Hunter. The three then meet with Chrollo to do the voiceovers to the Power Cleaners videotape he found. On Chrollo's request, Pakunoda recruited Sheila and Sarasa as voice actors because "The love triangles and exchanges between the female members are a big part of the draw. It's better to have three people acting them out, for the chemistry."[1]

Chap 396 - The Troupe

Sheila talking about their roles

Sheila and the other kids watched the events unfolding between Uvogin and Chrollo, where the former expected the latter to return the videotape taken in Uvo's territory. However, Sarasa came in between the two and 'dubbed' over what Uvogin really wanted to say to Chrollo after the film and live performance, expressing his awe and amazement. The group then smiles in approval, but when everyone chooses their roles to help with the next screening, Franklin tells everyone that the next villain is Disgust-Queen, who is Purple Cleaner's twin sister. He says Sheila should play the role.[3]

Chap 397 - Uga Forest

The Spiders searching for Sarasa in the dark forest

Sometime later, when Sarasa disappeared, a search ensued, and all of the children (including the troupe members) who attended the screening were looking for her at Chrollo's request. Sheila, alongside Pakunoda, Phinks, and Feitan, were on massive heaps of garbage to call out and look for Sarasa. As Chrollo and Uvogin looked to the Forest, they found a bag hanging on a tree that was revealed to be Sarasa's mangled body. After Uvo and Chrollo argued about what her murderers wrote. Paku and Sheila cried in response, and Sheila hugged Pakunoda to comfort her. After the funeral, Sheila listened to Chrollo's speech, and left her friends, probably not agreeing with their motives about revenge.[4]

Kurapika's Memories[]

Kura & pairo discover shilah

Kurapika and Pairo find an injured Sheila

Kurapika and Pairo find Sheila injured in the Lukso Province's woods. After Pairo and Kurapika get water for her, she offers the two boys, a book about a great Hunter's adventure called D Hunter as thanks. They find her a cave for shelter and bring her food, and she tells them about the outside world. After a while, even though her leg injury is not fully healed, she departs, leaving a note for Kurapika and Pairo about her departure.[2]

Sheila is presumed to be the woman who, after getting lost in the Lukso's woods, found the massacred Kurta Clan six weeks after Kurapika's departure.[5]
